This weekend there has been the 30th edition of the Barcelona Go Tournament. After several years I was unable to attend because I was leaving in Ireland, now that I'm in Madrid could not miss the opportunity to participate again. This year the tournament was held in the local of the La Pedra go club in Barcelona. I participated as a 1kyu player and won three of my five games so I'm quite happy with the result :-)

Last Tuesday while staying in Seattle I decided to visit the local go club. This is the Seattle Go Center and is located near the University District. I must say I was really impressed, the local is simply amazing, really big with lots of space, nice boards and a huge library. A recommended visit for any go player, people were really friendly as well, I played a strong 3dan player and we had a couple of great games. I definately look forward visiting the club again on my next visit to Seattle!

On February as part of my trip to Seattle for the TechReady 2012 we decided to go on the weekend to ski at the Crystal Mountain Resort in the rocky mountains, right under the amazing Mount Rainieri. As you can see from the few photos we took we had a lovely weather! The resort is not really big, there aren't many slopes but the quality of the snow was very good and there are a lot of off pistes. Looking forward to return another year :-)

Welcome to Seattle! After 13 hours of flight I landed yesterday in Seattle Tacoma airport. I had today the day off so I decided to go and do some sightseeing of the city and I spent most of the day walking and wandering around. I visited the Seattle center with the buildings constructed for the World Fair back on 1962 (including the Space Needle, icon of the city) and I also spent some time walking in the downtown area where I found a wonderful market down in Pike Street.
